In 2007, she graduated cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania’s Annenberg School for Communication, where she was the recipient of the Honorable Walter H. Annenberg Award. In 2011, Emily was named Abbott’s “Thriving Graduate Student” through the CFCareForward program and was awarded the $19,000 scholarship. She recently served as the patient representative on the “Communications Action Team” as part of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s five strategic planning committees.

Emily is a co-founder and board member of Emily’s Entourage, a non-profit organization that has raised over $500,000 since its founding in 2011 to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

On a personal note, Emily is an active participant in the online Cystic Fibrosis community. She’s incredibly grateful for the remarkable people she’s met and the invaluable lessons they have taught her about the power of a community that “gets it” and supports each other every step of the way.
